Sitka Traverse Pant – Early Season Versatility Done Right

I grabbed the Sitka Traverse Pant for early season bow hunting here in Pennsylvania, where the mornings can feel like late October, but by the afternoon you're shedding layers in 70-degree sunshine. These pants were built for exactly that kind of unpredictable swing, and they delivered. I went with a size 32. The length is perfect—no bunching, no high-waters, just a clean fit over my boots. The waist is slightly snug, I’ll be honest, but not in a restrictive or uncomfortable way. Once I got moving around in them, it felt just fine—definitely still wearable for long sits or hikes in and out. Where these really shine is how they balance durability with comfort. The fabric is soft and quiet, which is a must when you’re bowhunting and every step matters. But they’re not so thin that you feel exposed in the cooler mornings. Paired with a base layer if needed, I could easily wear these through most of the season, especially during active hunts. The pockets are well-placed and actually functional (which can’t always be said for hunting pants), and the articulated knees and overall stretch of the fabric give you freedom of movement without any restriction—whether you’re climbing into a stand or crouched down glassing. These aren’t the flashiest piece of gear in the lineup, but they might be one of the most practical. They’re comfortable, quiet, and versatile enough to adapt as the day changes. If you’re chasing whitetails in those early-season conditions where the weather can’t make up its mind, the Traverse Pant should be in your rotation.

Perfect early season pant. They got a bit chewed in the pricker and berry bushes.

Perfect weight for spring turkey hunting or early season bow hunting. Can’t wait to give them a try. The fit was great and I don’t see any reason why the fabric won’t hold up.

Great early season archery pant

These are great in early season archery here in Illinois. They are much lighter than the Stratus pants with Windstopper. They are very comfortable and quiet. They also work well for layering under bibs when the mercury drops. I have them in three camo patterns and love them. I'm 6'1", 170 lbs and wear a medium tall.
