Mountain Optics Harness Reviews

Sitka review

Light weight, fits well, and adaptable. I was able to take a universal pistols holster and remove one of the side punches so I could carry my pistol.

Functional kit

Good piece of equipment. Probably will need to tape up the extra slack in the straps because the keepers don't keep it contained but not a big deal. Nice material and comfortable.

Great vinyl harness. I’m able to store my phone rangefinder and wind detector. Plenty of room for calls and my licenses.

Great harness. Holds everything I need. Very comfortable.

Works great

Nice fit with lots of room to carry what you need.

Uncomfortable

The pouches are fantastic. The binoculars fit great but the shoulder straps are horrible! The dig into you sholder blades oddly. Not painful, but just annoying and uncomfortable. I upgraded from the previous version three years ago and actually went back to the older version because the straps are more comfortable. This is the first city product that I’ve been disappointed with.

Optics harness

The best I have owned. Great quality, quiet, and the side pockets can come off easily

Will Make High Country Hunting Safer

Absolutely love this piece of gear.

Very happy with the fit/feel.

Very happy with the fit/feel. Excited for the upcoming elk hunt

Bino harness

Love the side pockets, the magnet flap is perfect for staying out of the way, it fits really good and is comfortable for an all day hunt

Looked good, built well

This harness looked good and was built very well. I was not able to use it unfortunately because I did not read the description well enough, and it has magnets. I have a pacemaker and it made it turn off while wearing the harness. Other than that it was a nice bino harness

Mountain Optics Harness

This harness is amazing! Light weight and plenty of storage for what you’ll need to complete a successful hunt. The straps adjust to your body giving you the most comfortable fit. I had my original harness for years and ended up losing it, such a good product I bought another one. Highly recommend!

Good👍

Love this product

Mountain Optics Harness Review

So far so good. Using it down in the southeast, it definitely soaks up sweat pretty good. The only thing I can see being odd with it, is if you aren’t wearing a tall collared shirt, it may rub your neck. Other than that no issues so far.

Everything you need, nothing you don't.

First thing I noticed right away was the fit and finish of the product. After taking the time to adjust the straps to the desired length the harness becomes one with your body. For its size it doesn't feel bulky. The harness is quite and is very breathable. I have been testing it in 100+ degree weather and I don't experience excessive heat transfer. It holds my Sig Sauer zulu6 12x42mm binoculars perfectly. The rangefinder pouch is perfect for holding the Leupold RX-1400i TBR/W Gen 2. The integrated lens wipe is extremely useful and hides away keeping it clean for continuous use. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a high quality binocular harness.

It’s awesome

Perfect to fit.

Toy Bino Pack. . .

Sitka, help hunters understand how the Mountain Optics binocular pack made it through design, testing, and production. Who decided that the expandable side pockets on a $140+ bino harness shouldn't fit something as basic as bear spray, cat spray, or even a standard 16 oz water bottle? This feels less like thoughtful engineering and more like a cost-cutting exercise. The undersized pockets, limited utility, and questionable material choices make it seem like saving a few cents on fabric took priority over building a product hunters actually need in the field. The binocular closure flap is especially baffling. It's arguably the loudest component on the entire pack—a serious flaw on gear designed for hunters. Every time it's opened, it announces your presence. To make matters worse, the flap feels like it's reinforced with the same recycled cardboard used to ship the product. For a product marketed as "Mountain Optics," the real-world functionality is shockingly limited. If all you carry is a 10x42 binocular, a satellite communicator, and a couple of Fig Newtons, you might get by. But if you expect a binocular pack to carry common hunting essentials, prepare to be disappointed. What is most frustrating is that these aren't obscure complaints requiring months of field testing to discover. Any hunter handling a can of bear spray or a water bottle could have identified these shortcomings in minutes. That's what makes the design feel so disconnected from actual hunting use. This product has seriously undermined my confidence in Sitka's design and product development process. If this is the level of thought and field testing going into your gear, it's difficult to justify spending premium prices on future Sitka products. Competitors like Kuiu appear to have a much better grasp of what hunters actually need and expect from gear in this category. The Mountain Optics pack isn't disappointing because it tried something innovative and failed. It's disappointing because it overlooks basic functionality that hunters have come to expect as standard. At $140+, that's not a minor oversight—it's unacceptable.

Fits great looks even better

Gear harness

Typical SITKA quality. Design well thought out. Very adjustable for different layers. Good storage for my low country South Carolina deer hunts.

Great harness system

Harness system has worked great. Fits well & easily adjustable. The magnetic flap feature is nice for the inward binocular cap.

Harness for Binoculars

Great purchase these have never let me down. I love that they offer different camo options, making it easy to blend seamlessly with the rest of my gear.

Too small for my glass.

The main binocular pouch is too small for my binoculars and the auxiliary pouches are smaller than expected. The latch design for the binocular pouch is incredibly counterintuitive and difficult to use with gloves. The quality of the harness itself is fine. Overall, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Great harness

Fits my vortex 12x50 binos perfect, love the detachable pockets and straps, comfortable harness. Great product

Fits great! I use it

Fits great! I use it to carry multiple optics to include laser range finders, binos, etc. it feels very well thought out and tested like tactical gear.

Bino harness

Good design but the Velcro on the inside is loud against my binoculars. I wish it was a smooth seamless inside the bino pouch. Every thing else is great.

Fit nicely with a vortex

Fit nicely with a vortex combo I bought

Incredible Harness. I use it

Incredible Harness. I use it all over the country for any type of hunting scenario. Sitka is top notch and would recommend this brand and harness to anybody.

Versatility

Nice versatility with side pocket removal and extra storage options with the main binocular pouch.

Bino harness rocks

Well, used it all deer season and it worked like a champ! I’m sure there are better ones out there but for the sale price it was unbeatable! I’ll be using this for many seasons to come!

Mountain harness

Only harness I will run , great for running larger binos like the vortex razor uhd with rangefinder in one pocket and calls in other. I use the back zipper to put my license and tags in to keep out of elements

It don’t fit my binoculars

Unsatisfied with this product

Used during whitetail season. Great

Used during whitetail season. Great addition to my gear, awesome fit.

Disappointed in how bulky the

Disappointed in how bulky the pouches are while the straps are thin and ill-fitting. Also the top closures want to flop back half closing off the pouch when in the open position. It is not as comfortable or functional as others in the market. Ended up returning and getting a different harness.

Great product

Second one I have. Great fit and keep bino’s protected.

best bino harness

i have 2 and keep them at both my hunting camps. . . have had them for a Long time and they are awesome

Product is great! It’s quiet

Product is great! It’s quiet and binoculars/rangefinder are easily accessible!

Works well for Nikon M5 bino

This works as advertised, obviously you have to realize it’s going to add complexity to getting in and out of your gear and plan accordingly.
