Best piece of clothing for whitetail hunting

The fanatic jacket is my go to when telling people what jacket to get for stand hunting. It has kept me warm in below freezing temps and the built in muff is a game changer for keeping your hands warm. The only real drawbacks are that it is a little bulky for packing it in and out, and it can collect burrs if you are in a thick area but it is more burr resistant than I was expecting.

Fanatic Jacket-

Sitka, I got early season mid season and now late season for Whitetail and Goose season. The Fanatic jacket fell short. Need to add a hood even if it removable. Pocket lining on grunt tube needs to be smooth. the grunt tube get hung up on the material. You guys need to figure out a system to integrate a bino harness. So many times I have to walk in to my tree without my outer layer because it is warm but I need it as temps drop. Every time I have to take off my bino harness then put back on my outer layer. If you can figure this out- it would be awesome.

Great jacket. Not a fan of the zipper.

Great jacket very warm and windproof and comfortable. I’m a saddle hunter and I absolutely hate fumbling with a weird sideways zipper. Would be thankful if Sitka could be less bouje about it and just make it a normal right in the middle zipper. Other then that I love it I just cannot get use to that wierd diagonal zipper design.

warm without the Bulk

This jacket keeps me warm and I still have a good range of mobility in my arms and shoulders to shoulder my rifle or crossbow. Absolutely love this jacket.

Excellent product

Purchase several items for myself and my 12 year-old son. My son used his gear yesterday while shooting his first doe ever. The product kept him dry and warm.

warmest piece for those late season whitetail hunts. definitely get the bibs first because they come up so high, but when it is really cold the jacket adds a ton of warmth

Dropped the cash

Tired of freezing in the stand or wearing a ton of clothes. Just got the jacket and I like the layout. Fits great, pockets in the right place and ergonomically well thought out. We will see how warm it is. Got the bibs also. Large for both. Great fit.

Warmth

Extremely warm. Can layer and get into the negatives. But also just wear the jacket and hunt in 40 degree weather.

The cross body zipper is

The cross body zipper is a bit odd but stays warmer I believe. The large jacket is just big enough for a small lighter layer underneath. This is a very warm jacket.

Have Fanatic Jackets in both EV2 and Cover

Jacket is really warm, nice features. Had the EV2 jacket for 3 years, but felt like the EV2 pattern limited my use. When Sitka came out with Cover, made more sense for me. With the Fanatic in Cover, I usually pair it with my Stratus bibs. The Cover pattern also works well with my Subalpine stuff.

Tried it on in my air conditioned home started beading up with sweat right away, going to have to walk out in my long underwear and put on in the stand

Very Comfortable!

I just purchased it for this upcoming season, so I can't comment on how well it works. But there are plenty of reviews tell how warm it will keep you. I can say it is very comfortable! I am 6'5" 260lbs and the XL fits me. Normally I wear tall sizes, due to longer arms. But the XL fits great. Can't wait to sit in the cold!

Novembers in Alberta are no problem!!

I sit all day during the November Whitetail rut in Alberta Canada and couldn't do it without my Fanatic Jacket & Bibs. Wish I had bought it all sooner and its worth every penny I spent.

warmest jacket I have worn. The material is quiet so no need to worry about swishing noise. The hand warmer pocket design is great. There is an extra chest pocket, not sure what to put in there but it would be good for a rangefinder. The neck area allows you to put your safety harness through it.
