Equinox Guard Hoodie Reviews

This armor is amazing

The mosquitoes have been terrible this year and we've tried everything. Once we got these hoodies we haven't gotten any bites, I just need to grab the gloves now.

Equinox guard hoodie

I love it fits great and love the color

Insect repellent ++

I was skeptical but this hoodie really works. I am testing it right now as my grandsons fish a farm pond at dusk. I had bugs on the back of my hand crawl away from my wrist toward my fingers. The hoodie is lightweight and fits me well. I can't wait to try this hoodie next spring for turkey season.

Good shirt

Light and comfortable

A great addition to my early season archery hunts. Highly recommend

Great product

The fit is excellent! I'm glad I was able to grab one of these for summer coyote hunts, or even earlier fall time. Before it gets cooler outside.

Just what I was looking for

Nice fit. Breathable. Looking for an early-mid hunting season solution that would be able to keep pace for 6-10 mile daily movement. The integrated hood and mask are solid. The hood works wonders from the sun and the mask provide a nice complete seal to the eyes limiting the need for paint. Size was true and comfortable not an athletic tight fit like under armour type. First time purchase and am happy. Will be back.

Excellent

These are excellent when ground or still hunting when it’s warm

Summer in the south

Great product for summertime work in the woods, early bow season or those unseasonably warm winter days in south.

Best gear I’ve ever owned. Not 1 bug bite

Took my wife out with me this summer 26 to set out cams and had the hoodie and pants on. Not one bite and my wife had mosquito bites and chigger bites everywhere and I didn’t have one bite.

Equinox Guard Hoodie

Lightweight! Fits really well. Combined with the mosquito repelling technology, it is a must have for early season.

Perfect

Walked though waist high grass had no ticks on me!

Intense Afternoon Sun

Often times after being in the sun all day, the afternoon sun can be really intense and hits you from an angle where your hat doesn't offer a lot of protection. Additionally, whether it be gnats, deer flies, mosquitos or tsetste flies, have a layer that can give your face, head and neck some relief from flying insects can make your a lot hunt more enjoyable.

Great shirt

Great material very lightweight. However, it runs very small. I usually get a large and I needed a medium in this hoodie.

Equinox Guard Hoodie

Runs a little large.

Great

I wear a lot of hooded shirts and this is one of my favorites. Fits comfortably and keeps me cool out in hot weather

New Sitka customer

I bought the early season set up and yes it's a little expensive but worth every dime ! The quality, fit , weight and camo pattern are the best !

Equinox Guard Hoodie

Great addition to any spring season or hunting adventure to protect yourself from bugs. Got the pants and needed the shirt with all these ticks!

Worth the purchase!!!

Bought this for a Canadian bear summer hunt. The mosquitos, flies, ect were horrendous and this shirt was worth its weight in gold! Was hesitant to purchase but will 100% advocate for this purchase!

Equinox guard hoodie

Hoodie is comfortable and will be great to bear hunt in during the first of September.

As advertised

Love this shirt. Went out to hunt turkeys and was the only one who didn’t get eaten alive by mosquitoes.

nice fit

This is the first Sitka

This is the first Sitka item I’ve bought and I am loving it! A week prior I had a walk in the woods and came back with 5 ticks I hadn’t found. Subsequently I had to medicate and it thrust me to the decision to purchase insect resistant clothing. A second walk in the same woods with the Sitka shirt - I found no ticks. I am anxious to purchase the equinox pants next! Seeking more ultralight clothing options for lengthy hiking not just a day ir two. Thanks Sitka!

Super lightweight

Very thin material, but it is nice for running and gunning. I used it this past season and on the cool mornings I wore my Marino 330 core under it and it worked just perfect.

Excellent product.

Excellent product.

Hoodie

Great hoodie and definitely keeps the bugs off.

Works as advertised!

During turkey season in Arkansas where I get to hunt, ticks are abundant, “skeeters” are non existent! As the ticks are as stated abundant, any knowledgeable person will also spray with a tick deterrent such as permethrin or deet. Normally with other clothing, one is still gonna have a tick slip through and latch on. That did not happen while using my Sitka Equinox “GUARD”. Very pleased with my hoody!

Comfortable, functional, and really keeps

Comfortable, functional, and really keeps the bugs off

Nice hoodie

Fits great and very comfortable. Great for late season turkey

Great insect repellent

No ticks or bug bites during turkey season( was in very deep brush and worked amazing

AMAZING

SAVED me in South Dakota and Oklahoma! Amazing gear!

Hoodie

Very nice, warm layer. A little big, but wanted it to be loose.

Good Shirt

I can definitely say hunting early season archery last year and all of 2026 Spring turkey season, that Insect Shield is not effective. I have hunted central Virginia and coastal Virginia and was eaten alive without a thermacell turned on. I sprayed permethrin for the ticks and chiggers. The shirt runs big. A large fits like an extra large. The thumb loops are a great feature, the built in mask is just long enough to stay tucked into the top of the shirt and tight enough to stay on your face. The shirt length is great and designed to be turned into pants and it stays tucked. One chest pocket on your right side. As far as cooling of the shirt. Don’t expect miracles. This shirt breathes but you’ll still run hot once it gets mid 70s if you’re walking for any amount and wearing your vest. The Polygiene works fairly well and you can get away with not washing after every wear, especially if you didn’t sweat. I don’t always think that these clothes need to be a system, but the equinox garments are a “system” that I see the benefit.

AWSOME early season hoodie face

AWSOME early season hoodie face mask in the hood is nice very comfortable

One of the best hoodies

One of the best hoodies I own highly recommend

Equinox Guard Hoodie

Another great product from Sitka! Lightweight and cool for the late spring and early fall.

Perfect for hot and Humid

If you are in a hot, humid, and buggy environment, this is the product you need. I have other “bug” shirts, but nothing that compares to the lightness as well as coverage of this hoodie. Extremely well done, guys. I’m really a “large” guy, but I liked my tops baggy; I ordered an XL and it’s perfect.

Great lightweight hoodie

Great lightweight hoodie

Nice fit

Would give it five stars but it is really thin and I want to see how it holds up after several hunts.

Equinox Guard Hoodie

Great design to keep the bugs off you.
