SITKA helped secure permanent public access to the 18.9-mile Bridger Ridge Trail outside Bozeman, visible from our HQ.

Gallatin Valley Land Trust

The 18.9-mile-long Bridger Ridge Trail just outside of Bozeman is an iconic path. We have the privilege of looking upon the span of this trail every day from our headquarters.

Historically, there has been uninterrupted public access, but a small but key section crosses private land. The forward-thinking, generous landowners recognized that they may not always be in a position to keep the land – so they enrolled in an easement to help protect access.

We’re thankful to have partnered with Gallatin Valley Land Trust and other donors, to secure this valuable piece of ground, ensuring the trail is open and accessible to the public forever. It’s good news for our home valley.
